  1. Proposing New Conferences for the Network:

  4.         If a U'NI-net member system would like to have a new
  5.         Conference added to the network the net Sysop should follow
  6.         this procedure:
  7.  
  8.         Post a message in the UNI-net Administration Conference to
  9.         suggest the new Conference.  Please use a SUBJECT: NEW
  10.         CONFERENCE <Proposed Name>.  This will make it easier for
  11.         others to follow the thread.  A brief description of the
  12.         contents and limits of the subject matter should be included
  13.         in the proposal if this is not obvious from the Proposed Name.
  14.         The U'NI-net Administration conference is the ONLY conference
  15.         this message should be sent to.  Please do not bombard a large
  16.         list of conferences with material about a proposed conference.
  17.         The decision is in the hands of the U'NI-net Sysops, and the
  18.         UNI-NET Administration Conference is the place to find them.

  20.         Post a copy of the proposal in the UNI-USERS conference so
  21.         callers will be aware and can let their local Sysop know if they
  22.         are interested in participating in the conference if it is
  23.         approved.

  25.         If the member system finds 12 interested U'NI-net member systems
  26.         and a candidate for a Host for the Conference within 28 days he
  27.         should post a message to the U'NI-net Conference Chairman
  28.         indicating the names of the interested members, the name of the
  29.         proposed Host, and a brief description that will fit in the
  30.         following format:

  32.         Conf_Name     : Conference Description......................
  33.  
  34.         Maximum number of characters for Conference Name: 12
  35.         Maximum number of characters for Conference Description: 43

  37.         Though an extended description for the newly proposed
  38.         conference is not mandatory, those who wish to include
  39.         extended descriptions should follow this format:

  41.         Maximum number of lines for extended description: 5
  42.         Maximum number of characters per line: 70

  44.         The Conference Chairman may at his discretion immediately add
  45.         the proposed new Conference.  He may also consult with the
  46.         U'NI-net Hubs for their advice and opinions about adding the
  47.         proposed new Conference.  He may decide not to add the
  48.         proposed new Conference if he decides doing so would not be in
  49.         the best interest of the network and its members.

  51.         Notes: (1) U'NI-net is interested in adding new and
  52.         interesting conferences and members are encouraged to suggest
  53.         them.  (2) The requirement of 5% of the member systems willing
  54.         to carry a new conference may be increased to a higher number
  55.         depending on the size of the network and possible other factors.
  56.         (3) Consideration should be given to the qualifications of the
  57.         proposed Conference Host - Please see "Duties of Conference
  58.         Hosts" elsewhere in this document.  (4) The current Conference
  59.         Chairman is International Host, Cam Debuck
